ABOUT THE PROJECT
"Wouldn't it be amazing if more young people could explore beneath the waves, see how beautiful the incredible underwater world really is and understand why the marine environment is so very, very important?"
About
DIVE PROJECT CORNWALL is a unique experience for students to learn the basics of scuba diving alongside gaining an appreciation of natural marine world. Every young person who takes part, will discover more about themselves; facing and overcoming challenges - embracing new skills that will help them when they return to their everyday lives.
During their stay at the DIVE PROJECT CORNWALL Basecamp, students can enjoy the benefits of a fully equipped camp site complete with ocean views; star gazing, campfires and great cooking. We go back to basics, reducing screen time and connecting with both the natural world, the people around us and learning to appreciate 'the moment'.

Mission
Our mission at DIVE PROJECT CORNWALL is to challenge and empower young people, through the process of learning to scuba dive, to become more resilient day-to-day; taking important life-skills from the Project and continue to thrive in their own lives.
With the support of our charitable partner, the Marine Conservation Society, each student will benefit from an innovative, ocean conservation education workshops - learning how to future-proof our oceans. They will become 'Ocean Influencers' and go on to inspire others in their mission.

We believe every child has a right to experience, explore and learn from our oceans. Our aim is to make scuba diving more accessible to every student in the UK and learn from their experiences both in and out of the water.
History
I’m Andy Forster, and I’ve always been enthusiastic about marine conservation, the ocean and the life within it. Living in Cornwall has allowed me to discover the beauty of marine life under the oceans through scuba diving. DIVE PROJECT CORNWALL was born out of a desire to give the same opportunity to young people across the UK, and help them understand the importance our oceans have to the preservation of life itself.

In the words of Sir David Attenborough, "No-one will protect what they don't care about, and no-one will care about what they have never experienced."

We rely on the generosity of sponsorship to continue supporting schools with their funding, enabling more students to take part. With the support of business and individual sponsorship, DIVE PROJECT CORNWALL was launched in 2022 as a not-for-profit Community Interest Company. We have been able to give 400 young people the experience of a lifetime along with a new sense of confidence and purpose.
